After one month of working on the India Studies curriculum, MPA juniors (grades 3-6) and some students of grade 7 enacted scenes from the Indian epic “Ramayan”. The story of the Ramayan depicts the victory of good over evil, and culminates with “Dussherra”, the day when Lord Rama fought and was victorious, by defeating Ravana. Dussherra was celebrated by burning an effigy of Ravana, as is the tradition in India.
