MPA at Summer Solstice 2010

We just returned from a busy week at 3HO Summer Solstice. So many of our students and parents were there representing MPA and having a great time. Our Alumni were busy helping to run the camp and the Oasis Cafe, and Cherdi Kala Jatha and the students led everyone in Gatka classes and Gurbani Kirtan at the Rainsabhai. The Silent Auction too was a great success, and helped us generate almost $10,000 to kick off our Financial Aid fundraising drive this year! Thank you Arjan Kaur Khalsa, one of our parent volunteers, for pulling it all together and all the donors and happy bidders who participated. If you didn’t get a chance to donate at camp, you can still donate online to support our students! More than 60% of our students depend on Financial Aid to attend the school.

12thies Graduation Party 2010 – Goodbye Dear Ones

Every year at Miri Piri Academy the 11th grade class works hard to create a memorable going away party for the seniors who are graduating. This year’s party took place at the Ista Hotel, the best in Amritsar. Students and staff ate, danced, celebrated each other and said goodbye. According to tradition, the 11th grade students presented each graduating senior with a T-shirt carefully designed with a picture that captures the essence of how they will be remembered. Bon Voyage Seniors, and to the rest, enjoy your summer vacation!

In 11th grade, MPA students begin their year-long Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training program, and in the spring they have the opportunity to travel to Rishi Kesh for the International Yoga Festival to meet other students and teachers from around the world, sample other forms of Yogic tradition, and share their inspiration with everyone.
