Dear Parents and Friends,

I take this opportunity to invite you to join us in celebrating our outstanding accomplishments this academic year. We have not only kept up but have planted, sown and harvested ideas that have become realities.

Some of the highlights of this year have been: Establishing and working with a new Board of Directors, becoming a candidate for the Cambridge Accreditation, and implementing a marketing tour and campaign which included establishing an admissions department at our school site. As we take this time to celebrate our achievements, I acknowledge with gratitude, that we could not have done it without you.

It seems like yesterday when students were being assigned dorm rooms, squads, classes and schedules. The speed by which this year has culminated is an indication of how engaged we have all been in working on elevated levels of overall achievement. In just a few short days our students will be headed home prepared to integrate their experiences gained throughout this academic year. We are proud of both their personal accomplishments and contributions to this year’s success and say farewell to them with heavy hearts during this bittersweet time when we reflect on our past and look forward to our future.

We had our last SAT trip of the year. As I have mentioned before, this was the first year that the students have been able to sit for the test right here in Amritsar. While there were a few adjustments required, all in all it has reduced stress and hassle and allowed students more options and flexibility to choose a test date. Students will continue to be able to take the test at Springdales School in the future.

We had a special guest as our last visiting teacher of the year. Guru Singh from Los Angeles has come to MPA nearly every year since the founding of the school, at its current location ten years ago. This year he was here for a week (one of his shorter visits) teaching daily yoga classes, leading group meditation, and teaching the 11th and 12th grade teacher training classes. Once again thank you to all of the guest teachers that have come to MPA over the past year.

As year ends everything we do is the last one of the year: Our last yoga class, last P.T., last group meditation, or last room inspection. Everyone is looking forward to returning home but will miss their friends and the school as well. The year is finishing off strong with a lot of things happening in our final two weeks of school.
